Well after all the travelling about of the first 3 months of the year, April was a little more laid-back. I love getting out-and-about but it is nice to have some time at home too.
I’m not very good at practical jokes so never really make much of an attempt at fooling people myself, but I absolutely love seeing what fools people get up to. A good round-up of the fools from this year is here: http://metro.co.uk/2013/04/01/april-fools-day-2013-guardian-goggles-to-google-nose-top-10-round-up-of-the-actual-jokes-and-pranks-3566936/ and the fool that fooled me is here: http://metro.co.uk/2013/04/01/april-fools-day-2013-a-round-up-of-the-best-jokes-and-hoaxes-3566543/
I’ve never had much luck finding clothes in charity shops, but I love looking for photo props. I took a leisurely stroll round the charity shops of Chelmsford on a Saturday aiming for photo props but actually coming back with a rather lovely set of steak knives and a silk scarf.
It felt like winter was going to last forever, but finally towards the end of the month it started to warm up, and the garden came back to life! We’re taking every chance we can to be outside, particularly for relaxing with homemade treats and cups of coffee, and going for walks in the country. I was stalked by a scary swan at one point though – that’s a slightly more sinister aspect of the countryside!
Perfect Sunday morning – these lemon biscuits were lovely!
Recipe of the month was another from Gordon Ramsay’s Ultimate Cookery Course book: Spaghetti with chilli, sardines and oregano (though in this case with fusilli). A perfect mid-week recipe, this is super quick, tasty, cheap and pretty healthy too!
What were your April highlights?
