Here are a few of my favourite things from July:

We had a very rare thing for summer in the UK this year – lots of sunshine!

It was Tim’s Birthday

I love birthdays – anything that involves wearing party clothes, eating party food and birthday cake is pretty good in my eyes.

For Tim’s main Birthday Do a bunch of us went to Thorpe Park to seek some thrills. We love the big rollercoasters so made sure we went on as many as we could! It was a lot of fun.

A Trip to the Lake District

This year was pretty special in our family – I turned 30 (eek), my Dad turned 60, and my Grandad turned 90. To celebrate we went on a family holiday in the Lake District for a few days.

Stunning skies

We used to go to the Lakes on family holidays, but I think it has been about 10 years since I last went. I’d forgotten how beautiful it is. Living in Essex the landscape is pretty flat, but I love being surrounded by mountains!

Boats at Bowness

We went on a boat trip on Lake Windermere where we randomly managed to catch a glimpse of the Queen herself, who was also having a lake cruise!

We had some lovely meals and ice creams dipped in melted chocolate – super tasty!

It was a really lovely few days.

I hung out with some penguins

I went to a very interesting summer drinks evening with the Association of Cultural Enterprise – at Penguin Beach at ZSL London Zoo, which was pretty amazing.

All in all a pretty busy month!
