This year seems to be hurtling by at an alarming rate – I almost can’t keep up! So sorry this is a little late but here are some of my highlights from May:
May is a great month as it holds not one but 2 Bank Holidays here in the UK – and this year was especially good as they were both sunny, which is pretty much unheard of. I felt like I really made the most of them too – spending a lot of time outside. I went on a lovely (though quite wet and windy) trip to Leigh-on-Sea with my friends Amy and Julie on the first Saturday, and liked it so much I ended up taking another trip there on the last Monday with Tim.
Lots of pretty flowers in the garden!
I wrote about my mid-week epic cake attempts over on Wolf From the Door (not something I’d advise if you’re particularly busy) but I’ll mention it here too as I had a lovely time catching up with my good friends Lara and Jess, and discovered a delicious new cake to add to my repertoire!
Maple Pecan Layer Cake
I was really lucky to have the opportunity to go to a Communications breakfast opening of David Bowie is at the V&A. I really recommend paying it a visit – I think it’s open until the beginning of August. Seeing Bowie’s whole creative process, his influences, and those incredible costumes was really inspiring!
Couldn’t resist this bold red Ziggy Stardust ring from the gift shop!
